Life is Strange Review (PS4)

What can be said about this games. It's like Donnie Darko and The Butterfly Effect had a child. Mix in a temperamental attitude driven indie pop culture photography chick. Stick that in a pot, add drugs (LSD, MDMA and PCP) and you have the concept and gameplay of this game. A modern take on a "Choose your Own Story" type of game. It involves Max, a new Student at Blackwell Academy. You have free range of motion of the games camera, that's used to observe and interact with your environment. For some reason Max has the power to manipulate time. Which in my opinion is a poor gameplay mechanic to stretch out a lackluster story. Depending on your choices you can either make a decision or rewind time to select a different outcome. Which every outcome has repecutions on Max at some point down the line. All in all I thought the Emo movement died in the early 2000's but nope, it's firmly strong and alive in this video game. All whinny Emoscentric gimmick aside, it is amusing to see different outcomes and possibilities that will shape Max's future. I personally give this game a 6.5 out of 10. If this type of game tickles your fancy, I highly recommend either playing or getting with the times, Emo is Dead! Rest in Peace Emo Indie Chick: The Video Game, you had potential. You were just never given the tools to succeed, which is a sad shame, you could have been so much more.
